| | 18 hours of driving to and from Massachusetts (to Maryland) in one weekend. Tania's grandfather seems to be doing better in the hospital after his stroke a few days ago. It doesn't seem to be a life or death issue now, but I'm still glad we went to show our support of his condition and to see the family. Surprisingly, the drive didn't really do much to me physically, but I am pretty tired. And again, I'm left anxiously awaiting next weekend when I can relax. You never know how much you need weekends until you miss one. | |
| | OUR NEIGHBORS ARE GONE! *ahem* W00T! Finally, some peace and quiet. The landlord actually came up and seemed very happy to be rid of the problems. He ran through the possible people who may be getting the apartment next, and they all seem much nicer with far more stable lives. In any case, thank God they're gone. | |
| I'm thinking about making a webcomic about our cat Sugar's antics and our interactions with her. She and I have a bit of a love/hate relationship because I tease her and try to play with her and she just wants to be petted. Sugar tends to take most of it in good spirits (with an occasional bit of wide-eyed running away, from string especially) but takes a swat at me quite a bit. Her swats are becoming more playful, but there have been a number of Rob/Sugar standoff's where I ask her to 'get outta my grill or step outside'.
...
Yeah, I talk ghetto to my cat. You have a problem with that?
Anyway, I'll post it here (and probably on all of my other sites and Tania's journal) if I go through with it. What does everyone think of the idea?
| But First...
DISCLAIMERS:
MANY SPOILERS - Do not watch unless you want parts of SW:Ep3 given away that may or may not be already given away in the trailers (really though - don't we know what's going to happen from Ep 4, aka the REAL movies?)
THIS IS CRUDE - but Jar Jar does feel quite a bit of pain during it, so doesn't it come out positive and isn't it really worth it in the end?
ANAKIN IS PORTRAYED AS A WHINY LITTLE JERK - but isn't he, after all?
I give you, Star Wars Episode 3: A Lost Hope http://www.madville.com/link.php?id=99301&t=15
| A couple of intelligent online geeks got together, created a website and forum, submitted a bunch of their own posts, and made up a story about the 'toothing' fad supposedly catching on throughout England. Basically 'toothing' is using your bluetooth-enabled cell phone to arrange sexual adventures with nearby strangers on the subway or any public place who also happen to be carrying similar phones. Well, this is what it was supposed to be, but in reality it doesn't exist.
What's incredibly amusing is that they managed to fool Wired magazine, Gizmodo, Slashdot, and lots of other major technology news sites. It's great to know that while it's hard for little guys like me (http://www.ourhobbithole.com) to get their projects mentioned, fake projects can dupe these people. Ever heard of research and fact-checking, eh? Morons.

| Sith Apprentice - it's what you get when you mix 'The Apprentice', Star Wars, Highlander, The Princess Bride, and all sorts of other movies who names elude me for the moment. Everyone with broadband must watch this fan-made movie. If that's not enough for you - Jar Jar dies as painful as death as he deserves...well, almost.
Also, Darth Vader does something incredibly funny and out of character. Several things, actually.
